Love The Skin You’re In: Here’s How!
Do you want healthy, smooth skin? Do you want your skin to glow? You need to start making an effort now to nourish your skin and protect it from the elements. Use the tips in this article to achieve all those things. A few minutes spent every day can make a world of difference!
To help remove dead skin from your face more than regular washing can, try exfoliating. Using an apricot scrub, exfoliating glove, or even regular granulated sugar in addition to a normal mild face wash can help remove layers of dead skin. Make sure you only do so one or two times per week to stave off irritation or skin damage.
Scented moisturizers usually contain artificial ingredients that are bad for skin, so choose unscented and hypoallergenic lotions. One ingredient that is quite prevalent in commercial creams and lotions is alcohol, which is very drying for the skin. Before you buy any product that will be put on your skin, read what is in it. Never purchase a product that lists alcohol as an ingredient.
Baking Soda
There are many common household products that can be used to improve your skin. One of the most common ingredients is baking soda. Combine baking soda and water to make a paste and apply it to pimples or on dry areas of skin. When combined with warm water, you can use it to get rid of styling product residue on the scalp.
In order to keep your skin safe from the sun, always make sure to wear some type of lotion or makeup that has at least 15 SPF in it. Sunscreen can prevent skin damage, sunburn and wrinkles. You can slow the aging process significantly by using a daily sunscreen. It slows the formation of tiny lines and keeps the skin smooth and soft.
Your lips also need to be protected too. The air gets very dry in the wintertime. Unless you take care to moisturize your lips with a lip balm, you will have the unpleasant experience of your lips becoming dry and cracked.
Too much washing of the hands can dry your skin out. Moisturizing your hands each and every time you wash them is the key. It will keep your hands noticeably nice and smooth. Keeping a smaller sized lotion on hand will help you when you have to wash your hands in public.
Skin Type
A simple way to determine your skin type is to use a tissue to test your skin. This test is most accurate in the morning after you first wake up. Place the clean tissue on your face; let is sit for just a few seconds. Remove the tissue and look for the oil on the tissue. If there is no oil, then your skin is normal or dry. If there is oil in certain spots, then you have combination skin. If there is oil over most of the tissue, then chances are, you have oily skin. Discovering your skin type will enable you to choose the proper beauty care products.
Shea butter is an excellent treatment for the dry, chapped lips so common in the winter. Do not use lipstick that claims it will stay on all day or your lips will dry out. Also, avoid flavored lip balm or lipstick because these will encourage you to lick you lips more often, causing more evaporation and even dryer lips.
You can add sunscreen to your liquid foundation if it doesn’t already contain it. Some, but not all, foundations have a sunscreen already in them. If the foundation you use does not – or simply does not contain enough – use your own. Just mix a few drops of sunscreen with it.
Apply aloe vera to any lingering scars you may have that you’d like to see gone. Aloe vera is full of skin repairing amino acids and beneficial vitamin E. Just rub in the aloe vera where the scar tissue is after you take a bath. The newer your scar, the better your chances of removing it with aloe vera treatment.
Take care of your skin by eating properly. Although widely believed, it has been shown that chocolate and greasy foods do not directly cause acne. However, your diet can contribute to skin problems in other ways. Eat lots of vegetables, fruits, whole grains and nuts. These are all full of nutrients capable of curbing breakouts.
Show the world how your new skin looks. Daily effort will make your whole body smoother, softer and tighter. The results may take a little time to achieve, but once they happen, you’ll be glad you took care of your skin.
